What a great way to start the New Year! Right at the beginning of the year, our entire zenloop team traveled to Athens, the fascinating capital of Greece. Almost 50 zenloopies from all office locations came together to work on important new projects in workshops and design sprints and to spread the team spirit even more.
Our Teamweek takes place twice a year and is a fixed component of our annual plans. Through the team event, the different members from different cultures and locations can get to know each other better, exchange ideas, and work together in a relaxed atmosphere. Every company can increase success through a good sense of community, trust, and the cooperation of employees and superiors, which is why we love Teamweeks.
Day 1: Recap of the last year and preview of exciting projects
Who thinks that Teamweek is a paid company holiday is wrong, though. After a very pleasant flight and a delicious lunch in the hotel, our working day started right away. Our co-founders began the afternoon with an inspiring welcome speech before each department summarized their last year in a presentation and finally gave an outlook on the goals for the new year. This allows all team members to understand what has been achieved in other departments and celebrate successes together. Since we value feedback highly and are very interested in the exchange and cooperation of different divisions, this reflects very well our principles of “Together” and “Learn and Grow”.
After all team members were up to date, the rest of the day was dedicated to team building. In small groups, our zenloopies spread out across the city to solve tasks as a team during a fun Scavenger Hunt. We had lots of fun, and all the challenges were mastered successfully. The last station of the Scavenger Hunt led our team to an amazing Greek restaurant, where we concluded the evening in a traditional atmosphere.
Day 2: Rapid Design Sprints
The second day of our Teamweek was dedicated to the motto “productivity”. Small and diverse teams worked on projects such as creating a new CX Academy, improving the Sales Webinars, and creating content for analyses and touchpoints for new industries. It is very impressive to see how the different teams work together, highly motivated and creative. After a long and productive day, we spent the evening together with a delicious pizza dinner. All team members that were still not tired went to a bar afterward to finish to the second day in Athens successfully.
Day 3: Team Presentations and zenloop Culture and Values
The third and last day of the zenKickoff started with a presentation by our co-founder Paul about the culture and values of zenloop. The team received the opportunity to get to know the values of “positive,” “fast,” “excellence,” and “growing together” better and to deepen them in a workshop about personal stories. Some zenloopies decided to explore Athens during their lunch break and to take a look at the famous Acropolis. In the afternoon all teams presented their results of the week and collected great feedback from other groups. The Teamweek ended with an awesome dinner in a traditional Greek restaurant. Everybody had the chance to get to know their colleagues better and have exciting conversations, especially because the seats were changed after each course of the dinner.
Unfortunately, the next morning, it was already time to say goodbye. After three very intensive, exciting, and busy days, we returned to cold Berlin, a little tired but happy. We would like to thank all team members who made the zenKickoff an extraordinary event and are already looking forward to the next Teamweek in Berlin this summer!
