Responsibility, teamwork, and social media – as an intern at zenloop you can learn more than just how to make coffee. Our intern in content marketing, Victoria, gives us an insight into her daily work at our integrated experience management platform zenloop and shows how exciting an internship can be.

We interview University of Mannheim Masters Student Victoria

1. Can you briefly introduce yourself, please?

Hi, I am Victoria, 23 years old and I am currently doing my Master in Management at the University of Mannheim. My special focus is on HR and Marketing. Before that, I also already did my Bachelor in Business Administration in Mannheim. Since we are currently having our semester break and I wanted to gain some practical experience, I decided to do an internship in marketing at zenloop in Berlin.

2. Why did you decide to do an internship at zenloop?

At university in Mannheim, I am a member of the student initiative Thinc! e.V. for start-up and entrepreneurship. Last October, I had the opportunity to participate in a workshop by zenloop at our university. Since I had a lot of fun at the workshop and since the zenloop team convinced me immediately, I thought it would be exciting to work at zenloop. Moreover, I have a great interest in startups and marketing, and I also wanted to work practically. Therefore, the internship presented the perfect opportunity.

3. How was the onboarding process?

The onboarding was well organized and I felt integrated and in good hands right from the start. I was not only explained what my tasks for the next weeks would look like, but I also learned a lot about e-commerce, SaaS, and the product of zenloop. In addition to that, a lot of emphasis was placed on explaining what the corporate culture and values are. In many personal conversations and trainings, I could understand how we communicate, work, and give feedback at zenloop. That was really great.

4. What does a typical day at zenloop look like for you?

This is not so easy to answer because there is no such thing as “the typical workday”. Every day is different, with many new and challenging tasks. These always depend on what has priority. However, priorities can also change from time to time. But that is what makes work exciting, it never gets boring at zenloop.

5. What does the task of a marketing intern look like?

Because I am currently working in content marketing, it is mainly about creating content. I am, for example, taking over zenloop’s social media channels and I am thinking about which posts can be shared in the next few months and which creatives are needed to do so. Afterward, I discuss this with our designer. So teamwork is also required. Other tasks are for example writing blog posts for the website, developing ideas for the layout of the website, or strategic tasks, such as creating social media reportings.

6. What do you enjoy most about working at zenloop?

What I particularly like about working at zenloop is that the team is very young and motivated. I think everyone wants to advance the company somehow. I also think that you receive a lot of responsibility quickly. There is a real “hands-on mentality”.

7. How would you describe zenloop to a good friend?

A start-up in Berlin, with a very cool, international, and young team, in which everyone is very hard-working and motivated to bring the company as well as the product to the next level. Everyone has the opportunity to contribute their strength and to learn a lot.

8. Which qualities for your future career could you develop at zenloop?

Above all, I think that zenloop is about responsibility, teamwork, and just doing it. I also learn many practical applications, which I would never do so at university. For instance, I was explained which codes are the basis of a website, and how a ticketing system works. I am also involved in strategy and content planning at zenloop.

9. What does your future career look like?

To be honest, I am not sure yet. But I am also only in my first semester. So I still have almost two years to make a final decision. I definitely want to do another semester abroad and also get insights into the HR department. But right now I could imagine working for a start-up company for a while after my studies.

10. What do you like to do, when you are not working?

I love sports. I have played tennis and skied ever since I was little. I also often go running. By the way, this is a good way to explore Berlin ;). Further, I like meeting my friends, cooking, and traveling.
