“Strong together” is the motto of our account executive Maria. Originally from the stationery trade, in her interview she talks about her varied daily tasks and explains what she appreciates most about our customer experience management platform zenloop.


Job-interview : Account executive Maria reveals what really lies behind a job in sales


1. Please briefly introduce yourself

I’m Maria, 27, and come from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. I’ve been employed as an account executive at zenloop since May 2019 and mainly advise customers in the fashion industry.

2. Can you summarize for us what you do?

My responsibilities as account executive includes the proactive contacting of customers and advising on diverse sales cycles. Together with the zenloop team we find the perfect solution and support our users with their questions regarding customer loyalty and retention.

3. What does a typical day look like?

Every day is different and full of variety. Naturally, I mainly concentrate on progressing sales, that is to say, I offer a complete consultation via telephone, video call or at trade fairs. For larger projects I also meet our customers personally.

Each appointment is something special as our customers have differing concerns and therefore need individual consultation. This makes my job challenging and multi-faceted. I thrive on the proactive, personal engagement and enjoy driving the sales process with my team further.

4. Which other posts did you go through on your way to your current position?

My roots lie in stationery. When I started my career I qualified in the retail trade and then completed an additional two year course as business administrator.

For a time I then took on a leading role in retail before switching to headhunting. Now I’m happy to be back in sales and bring my skills to zenloop.

5. What do you like most about your work at zenloop?

I appreciate the working environment and the continual development which pushes our retention platform zenloop forward. I have always felt myself to be in a valuing and growing field where I am a provocative part of the whole.

6. How would you describe zenloop to a good friend?

I would tell a friend that zenloop gives you the space for your own initiative. Through well structured onboardings, training and meetings, your personal growth is guaranteed.

7.What did your first weeks at zenloop look like, how was the onboarding?

The first few weeks were both thrilling and exciting, as I was allowed to go to a trade fair and immediately take part on my third day. The onboarding is very structured and weekly goals are very well defined.

One quickly gets a feeling for zenloop’s corporate philosophy as the induction process binds together many of the working areas.

8. What tips would you give to anyone wanting to get ahead either at zenloop or elsewhere?

I am convinced that you can be successful if you have your goal clearly in front of you, irrespective of the situation you find yourself in. On top of this a positive attitude, a strong sense of will and a hands-on mentality are definitely divisive.

9. How would you describe the dynamic and and working style of your team?

Working with my team is a lot of fun! Thanks to the transparency within the company, we all know our goals and can focus hard on them. Based on the motto “together we are strong” our team spirit and learning curve are strong.

10. What do you like to do when you’re not working?

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with friends and family or reading a good book. If I find I have to switch off, I do some sport.
